A Coaching Journey: Unleashing Potential and Achieving Goals
Coaching has evolved into a transformative process that helps individuals unleash their full potential and achieve their goals. As a coach, I too am on a journey because coaching is not just about guiding others but also about personal growth and development. This blog explores the intricacies of the coaching journey, the benefits of coaching, and how to engage with a coach that works for you.

The Beginning of a Coaching Journey
Every coaching journey starts with a passion for helping others. Coaches come from diverse backgrounds, united by their desire to make a difference. The initial step often involves formal training and certification, which provides the foundation for effective coaching practices. During this phase, coaches learn essential skills such as active listening, powerful questioning, and goal setting. My journey was different as I was invited to coach senior executives as part of Change management Programmes and later formalised my experience with an ILM coaching course.
Building Strong Coaching Relationships
A successful coaching journey is built on strong, trusting relationships. Coaches must establish rapport and create a safe, supportive environment for their clients. This involves understanding the client's needs, aspirations, and challenges. Effective communication and empathy are crucial in building these relationships. This is why at IVARTY we offer a free initial session to make sure the chemistry is right for us both.
Unleashing Potential Through Coaching
One of the core goals of coaching is to help clients unlock their potential. This involves identifying strengths, overcoming limiting beliefs, and setting achievable goals. Like all coaches I use various techniques, such as visualisation, mindfulness, and action planning, to empower clients to reach their full potential. With an MBA and many years’ experience there are not many scenarios I have not previously encountered.
Measuring Success in Coaching
Success in coaching is not just about achieving specific goals; it's also about the overall growth and development of the client. As with many other coaches I use various metrics to measure progress, including client feedback, self-assessment tools, and performance indicators. Regular reflection and feedback sessions ensure that the coaching process remains aligned with the client's goals – we will agree what success would look or feel like as we set out on our journey together.
