Programme Management Risk Office

As part of a Council wide initiative, our Local Authority Council required assistance in reviewing and reinvigorating their approach to programme and project management with an aim of integration with existing governance structures.

Working with the Council we deployed a team of digital Subject Matter Experts who created a PMRO structure which focused on decision making protocols for the implementation of all digital transformation activity. Working with the Council’s IT team a Technical Design Authority group was established to ensure all digital choices would have full interoperability across future digital platforms and would comply with the wider IT strategy.

Our team scoped out the full PMRO process, ensuring at all stages full integration with the wider Council decision - making governance structures. In so doing, work was undertaken to produce the following:

Financial reporting processes to track saving made

Record and audit processes for wider governance and scrutiny

Transfer of knowledge to the Council’s own team to ensure long term sustainability of the PMRO function.

The work was recognised by the Council a robust example of how effective governance and decision making can help implement complex change programme while saving money.
